One of the things customers love about Qubole is that they’re able to use the latest and greatest technologies—without having to fiddle with deploying it on their own. Continuing this tradition, I’m pleased to announce that we’ve expanded our portfolio of services on the Qubole Data Services (QDS) platform to include Apache Spark.

Data scientists and analysts gain access to the fast in-memory processing capabilities of Spark that make it ideal for machine learning and predictive analytics application. Like all QDS services, the Spark-as-a-Service feature auto-scales based on workload, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective use of compute resources.

According to Qubole co-founder and CTO, Joydeep Sen Sarma, who led this project, “By adding Spark to QDS, we’ve completely eliminated the barriers to taking full advantage of Spark for rapid data analytics and we’re giving customers the ability to select the best technology for their big data tasks, on the fly.”
