Qubole is a small company with big goals. We have to solve hard problems to make it simple for our users to manage and analyze data using cloud infrastructure. A sampling of areas we are working on include:

All our products run on the Cloud. As a result - a huge focus area for us is programming and operating the cloud to build fast, reliable and cost effective services. All our products are encapsulated as web services - and shipping high quality services is integral to everything we do.

Working at Qubole is an adventure. We may be optimizing Hadoop's Java codebase one second, writing some JavaScript/CSS the next and be programming AWS apis in Python soon thereafter. We are continuously challenged and always learning.

Currently we are hiring engineers at both Palo Alto, CA and Bangalore, India for the position of Member of Technical Staff . We are looking to work with the best programmers with strong fundamentals in CS. Some areas of expertise are useful for working in Qubole (but are by no means necessary):
- Building and operating large scale web services like search engines and advertising networks.
- Complex software systems like databases, file systems or distributed systems.
- Web development - designing web services API, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript.
